Old website material .....

Hi and welcome to the website for the Canberra Irish Set Dance Weekend.  One of the main objectives of this weekend is to learn from a range of teachers - and particularly those that have travelled to Ireland to learn from teachers there.  So if you want to improve your set dancing, learn new dances, learn Irish set dancing for the first time or just dance and socialise in a great atmosphere then we look forward to welcoming you to this event.

If you want to find out more about this event, check this website regularly as we will be posting details as they come to hand. Please contact us on 02 6251 5257 (H) (+61 2 6251 5257 for international callers) or 0422 392 081 (M) (+61 422 392 081 for international callers) or via email at paulway@mabula.net if you need further information about the weekend.

Finally, in addition to the weekend we run classes on Wednesday nights in Canberra.  If you would like to come to a class on a regular or casual basis full details are available here.

About Canberra and accommodation

For information about travel to, getting around and accommodation in Canberra, see the National Capital Tourism website. They have comprehensive details on everything from all varieties of accommodation to what's going on in Canberra to where to eat out.

There is a range of accommodation within ten to fifteen minutes walk of the venue. One of the closest is the very flashy Waldorf Canberra, but for those of more modest budgets the nearby Canberra Youth Hostel has rooms and dorms. Other hotels and apartments nearby include the Olims Hotel, Quest Apartments, Rydges, Novotel, Medina Executive James Court, Comfort Inn Downtown, and the Canberra Rex Hotel.

We acknowledge the support of the Monaro Folk Society in the staging of this event.
