116 - Halting State

I can’t remember where I heard the absolutely banging track “Worlds Apart” by Moloch Horridus. But it made me realise I really do like that kind of industrial, fast-paced, minimalist techno.

Of course, the artist’s name intrigued me – it is another name for the Thorny Devil, a lizard of the Australian outback with horns and thorns and protrusions, all (we guess) to make it inedible to hunters. So what’s a German artist doing with an Australian name – and only one release?

So this of course led me to a massive trawl through Juno Download – first for tracks by Tred, then for tracks off similar releases. Then I put them together with some of my other collection of that BPM and style.

Don’t expect a lot of subtle melodies or complicated vocals. This just gets into it.
